Celebrating Carnaval in Taiwanese Style

This week was Carnaval around the globe, and here is the video of samba dancing and drumming to celebrate the event. It was shot in 2016 when the samba team from Taiwan came to Naha, Okinawa.

As the Year 2019 came to an end, I went back to Taiwan for the second time in the year. Taichung City (台中) and its surrounding areas in the center of the west coast were the main destinations.

The year 2019 seemed to begin with Taiwan and wrap up with the East Asian island for me. Although it was the second time to visit there, it was the first time actually traveling around.

The Gate of Golden Grotto

Sanzhan (三棧) (a.k.a. Pratan) is an indigenous people’s village near Xincheng in Hualian County, Taiwan. It’s close to Taroko National Park and the gate to Golden Grotto as well.
