Cherry Blossom Season in Okinawa 2022

It’s a cherry blossom season here in Okinawa, and many of the trees have been turning green already. Because the sky has been gloomy and pouring rains in the last couple of weeks, I’ve been missing a chance to see fully bloomed Taiwan cherry trees.

Panoramic view of Miyagijima from old Ikei Primary School

Recently, I went through Mid-Sea Road to travel to Ikeijima, one of the furthermost (if not THE most) remote island you can go by car from Okinawa Honto (main island), in Uruma City. It was holding an art exhibition called Ichihanari Art Project with the neighboring islands. It was my first time to visit the island, so here’s some snaps from the day trip.
